WRECK RUINS NASHVILLE RACE FOR FRASER
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Scott Fraser finished a disappointing 31st in the Music City 300 at Nashville Speedway USA after a lap 77 crash sidelined the No. 00 Freight Lines Chevrolet for more than 150 circuits.
Fraser had relinquished his top 10 running spot on lap 26 when an electrical problem developed with the engine and he pitted to find the problem, re-entering the race as the last car on the lead lap.
"We were just getting going again when two cars got together right in front of us," said Fraser, from Shubenacadie, N.S.
Fraser clipped the spinning car narrowly but damaged much of the right front of the car's suspension parts.
Race number nine of the 2001 American Speed Association (ASA) schedule is June 16 at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri.

FRASER STARTING SEVENTH IN NASHVILLE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 1) - Scott Fraser ran the seventh fastest lap at Nashville Speedway USA in qualifying time trials for the Music City 300. Fraser's time will earn a seventh-place start for his No. 00 King Freight Lines Chevrolet.
"We have a good car this weekend," said Fraser. "I really like the track and am looking forward to Saturday night's race."
Butch Miller, Coopersville, Mich, had the fastest time and will start from the pole position. Joey Clanton, Mike Garvey, Greg Stewart and Robbie Pyle will complete the top five starting spots. Fraser was the top rookie in qualifying.
The Music City 300 will be telecast live on TNN at 9 p.m. EDT.

NASHVILLE NEXT FOR FRASER
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - This Saturday night will see Scott Fraser and the No. 00 King Freight Lines Chevrolet at Nashville Speedway USA for the Music City 300, race number eight on the 20-race 2001 American Speed Association (ASA) schedule.
The 0.596-mile banked oval is yet another first-time track for the Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia native, who has yet to visit a track he's raced at before this season. In the six ASA races he ran in 2000, Fraser's first repeat visit to a track comes July 1 at Toledo, Ohio.
"We've heard lot's of good things about Nashville," said Fraser. "We look forward to a good race."
Fraser is currently ninth in overall driver point standings and second in the rookie of the year battle.
The Music City 300 will be telecast live on TNN Saturday at 9 p.m. EDT.
