FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA (03/02/01)

SHUBENACADIE, N.S. – Scott Fraser will see the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean in the next week. Minutes from his home in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, Fraser can catch a glimpse of the waters of the Atlantic. California's Irwindale Speedway, site of the March 10 Tires.com 300 Presented by BFGoodrich Tires, is located less than one hour from the Pacific Ocean. Fraser plans to make the drive from Irwindale to the west coast, just to say he was there.

"I'm sure the water is a little warmer in California than Nova Scotia," said Fraser, a contender for 2001 Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the American Speed Association (ASA). "It's one of those deals where we are racing snowmobiles one week and stock cars the next."

Known as the "Shubie Shuttle," Fraser says he's ready to get back behind the wheel of the No. 00 King Racing Chevrolet after a three-week break following the first event on the 2001 ASA season.

"That first race was just a teaser," said Fraser. "We've been go-karting, snowmobiling and four-wheeling trying to stay entertained since then. It seems like months since we raced cars."

Fraser's cross-country journey begins Monday and fans can follow his progress on the Official Scott Fraser web site: www.scottfraseronline.com.

"We'll check-in a couple of times each day," said Fraser. "We expect it to be an interesting ride."

The web site was designed to appeal to the interests of media as well as fans. It is a very comprehensive site, containing all the pertinent facts about Fraser and his career, news releases, team data and statistical information.

The Tires.com 300 Presented by BFGoodrich Tires will be telecast live by TNN, beginning at 9:00 p.m. (EST).
